New Part 6 details revealed!
A heap of new Lupin III: Part 6 details have been announced ahead of the series initial broadcast in Japan, on October 10th, 2021.
Join us as we round-up everything that's new, ensuring you don’t miss out on a single thing!
Firstly, a second trailer for the series has been uploaded to TMS Entertainment’s official YouTube channel.
The new preview video, shown below, likely contains footage from the opening episodes of the series — which sees Lupin and the gang facing off with Sherlock Holmes, plus a shadowy organization known as “The Raven” within the streets of London.
The latest rendition of Yuji Ohno’s classic theme tune can be heard playing alongside the footage - and it appears both Albert d'Andrésy and Goro "Yata" Yatagarasu from Lupin III: Part 5 are also both set to return.

The trailer also gives a first-listen to the new voice talent of Daisuke Jigen.
Hot off the heels of Kiyoshi Kobayashi’s retirement, which was confirmed yesterday, Akio Ōtsuka — legendary voice actor and son of Chikao Ōtsuka, the talent behind Goemon Ishikawa XIII in Lupin III: Part I — has been named as his successor.
While Akio Ōtsuka will take over the role from episode one, Part 6 will offer an episode zero - in which Kiyoshi Kobayashi is due to take the role of Jigen one final time. This will no doubt be an emotional moment for many fans of the franchise, and should also make for an unforgettable start to the show.
An interview with Ōtsuka reveals that while initially uncomfortable hearing anyone but Kobayashi playing the character, he has done his best at maintaining all the hard work set before him.
Ōtsuka is well known for playing such characters as Solid Snake, Black Jack, Gamigami Devil (Popolocrois), Ryoma Hoshi (Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony), Shunsui Kyouraku (Bleach) and many more.
We are confident he will do a fantastic job, and we cannot wait to hear what he has in store for us as Jigen! Check the video embedded below for a sneak preview of his performance.

Alongside character bio’s of the existing Lupin III cast members are two new guest characters - Sherlock Holmes and a young girl named Lily.
The renowned private detective Sherlock Holmes (voiced by Masato Obara - 小原雅人), based on the original novels by Arthur Conan Doyle, faces off with Lupin in Part 6. However, at the start of the series, Holmes feels stuck in a rut. Despite having astute observation skills and the great powers of deduction, our beloved detective is mostly solving more… timid cases — such as the curious case of the cheating couple or the mysterious missing pets.
With him is a girl named Lily (voiced by Sumire Morohoshi - 諸星 すみれ). At the young age of 14, Lily lodges with Sherlock Holmes in his accommodation at 221B Baker Street in London. She often plays a hand in Holmes’ cases, assisting him in his work (sounds familiar to us)!

Releasing on the 29th of September for around 1,100 Yen, the book will contain an extensive history of the series, interviews with the current cast and staff, plus much more.
An exclusive interview with Akio Ōtsuka, the new voice talent behind Daisuke Jigen, will be included. In the interview, Ōtsuka is expected to discuss his new role within the franchise, explain what it feels like to be considered as the successor of Kiyoshi Kobayashi, plus detail what he hopes to bring to the character.
An A4 clear file showcasing character artwork by lead artist Hirotaka Marufuji can be snagged by picking up a copy of the book from the TSUTAYA main store in Tokyo (stock may be limited).

Still feeling hungry after digesting all of that information? Then why not take a trip down to a new Lupin III themed café, opening for one month only!
Set to open from October 8th through to the 31st, this new pop-up café will be located at the Kirarito Ginza 12F in PLUSTOKYO. Each food item has been designed around Part 6, and will feature the likes of both the 100% beef burger and four types of cream soda, which are shown above and below.
Reservations can be made online from September 17th, 2021. Attendees will require having booked a reservation slot before attending the café — so be sure not to turn up without one, or risk being shown the door!
