A closer look at the Bandai Spirits Lupin figurine!
Yep. The image you can see above is a real life Lupin III figurine that was recently on sale at the Nihombashi Mitsukoshi main store in Tokyo.
Created in limited quantities as part of the 50th anniversary Lupin III exhibition, these striking figurines have featured in the spotlight over on social media for their unique look.
Designed in Japan as part of the Bandai Spirits range, each version of the figurine retails for a whopping 550,000 yen (around $5,000). Eager fans with small fortunes to spare picked up the figurines during the event, which ran from September 3rd through to September 13th, 2021. There are only around for or five made in total, and all are sold out at time of writing. At that price, we’re confident they have all gone to good homes!
Check the gallery below for a comprehensive look at each version. There is only one of each colour made, and each is shaded to make it seem as if Lupin is running away from a spotlight — just like in the iconic animated scene first shown during the 1969 pilot film.
