“4D” Lupin pachinko coming soon to Japan!
Yes, you read that correctly.
Lupin the Theater, a self-proclaimed “four dimensional” Lupin III pachinko slot machine from Heiwa Corp is soon to release in Japan.
If the quite frankly bizarre trailer above didn’t make things clear enough - the machine features 3D visuals, surround sound, motion and wind effects.
While new information appears to be releasing weekly, the recent “story” trailer (included below) appears to show that Mamo - the villainous clone from the 1978 film The Secret of Mamo - will be the games antagonist.
If the YouTube comments and like / dislike ratio is anything to go by, the announcement from Heiwa has had a mixed reception.
The majority of gamers appear to be disappointed at the cabinets focus on gimmicks, and express that they feel company is out of touch in regards to fans really want to see - a solid, decent, pachinko slot machine.
There is also talk on how, due to the excessive size of the cabinet, there are fears it may not show up in all locations. The return of Mamo appears to be a welcome one however, with most feedback on the story trailer hailing his return.
We will post more information on the cabinet as it becomes available! To view the trailers embedded in this post on YouTube itself, be sure to visit Heiwa Corp’s official account here.
