Discotek's Part 1 Blu-ray ships early!
Some lucky folk in the United States are receiving their Blu-ray copies of Lupin III: Part 1 early!
Discotek Media’s extensive home video release of the original 1971 television show was scheduled to drop during May 2022, a few weeks out from the time of this post. The good news is, however, that online retailer RightStufAnime.com currently has copies in stock, and is sending them out to those that have pre-ordered.
Discotek’s latest Blu-ray set marks the first time the original Lupin show has released in 1080p HD within the United States.
In addition to including remastered footage from the Japanese Blu-rays, special features are aplenty. These include fan commentaries, essays, clean opening & endings, two-hundred pages of in-depth liner notes from long-time Lupin fan Reed Nelson and friends, and a gallery filled to the brim with rare production artwork.
A newly recorded English dub will also feature alongside the original Japanese language audio. Tony Oliver, Richard Epcar, Lex Lang, Michelle Ruff and Doug Erholtz will all assume their usual roles, starring in classic episodes as the Lupin gang.
Have you received your copy of Part 1, yet, and if not—are you still planning on picking up a copy? Let us know!
