Discotek's Prison of the Past Blu-ray gets July release date!

The upcoming Blu-ray release of 2019’s television special Lupin III: Prison of the Past is dropping on July 26th, 2022 in the United States!

Pre-orders for the film are currently live over on RightStufAnime.com, with an early bird limited time price of $19.47 (cheap)!

Discotek’s latest release comes bundled with a bunch of extra features, including clean opening & endings, art galleries, and an isolated score (the latter of which appears to be a welcome new trend, for Discotek releases)!

In addition, a brand-new English language dub is included alongside the original Japanese language audio, which features Tony Oliver, Richard Epcar, Lex Lang, Michelle Ruff, and Doug Erholtz reprising their roles as the Lupin gang.

For those unaware - Prison of the Past is one of the better Lupin television specials in recent years. It features a Part 2-esque infiltration storyline, with plenty of fun character writing. While the presentation is a bit hit-and-miss, the film is a suitable introduction to the series, and a good time overall. Definitely worth your time!

Lupin the 3rd Prison of the Past Blu-ray is an anime film directed by Hatsuki Tsuji.

IS THE PAST REALLY A PRISON, OR IS THE REAL PRISON ONE OF YOUR OWN MAKING?

When the Lupin gang gets wind of the news that Finnegan Corbett - fondly referred to as the “Modern Day Robin Hood” and a master thief equal to Lupin - is finally set to be executed, they travel to the Kingdom of Dorrente to break him loose.

Can the master thief conquer the notoriously impregnable prison El Guille and “steal” Finnegan? Or is there more to Finnegan’s execution than meets the eye? Get ready for an action packed prison break adventure with Lupin and the gang, now available for the first time on Blu-ray!
