A few Part 6 odds and ends!
It has been a month or so now since our in-depth coverage of Part 6 came to an end. While the show is currently airing weekly on Toonami in the United States, with the most recent episode being Mamoru Oshii’s The Killers in the Diner, the Japanese Lupin output has eased off the gas. This is a natural part of the cycle—when you take into consideration the show has finished airing there!
Still, there are a couple of cool items from the world of Part 6 coming to Japan in the next month or two. While none are big enough to deserve their own news story, I wanted to highlight them here in this post, just so they don’t go missed. Let’s take a look!
Lupin III: Part 6 DVD / Blu-ray BOX II
First up, we have some lovely new packaging shots from the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release of the latter half from Part 6.
Containing episodes thirteen to twenty-four, the second set from the latest animated television series is due to launch on June 22nd, 2022 in Japan. The box artwork contains some fun new pieces from character designer Hirotaka Marufuji. Select retailers will also be stocking a set of five limited edition character cards, as shown in the bottom right image above.
The Blu-ray version will retail for a whopping 22,000 yen, and can be ordered online through the VAP store by clicking here.
HUMAX Cinemas are taking a stand!
Next up—check out these cool silhouette style acrylic cell phone stands, from HUMAX Cinemas!
These were originally on sale exclusively within HUMAX chain malls, but can now be ordered online for the low price of 2,500 yen a piece.
Each stand is 130mm in height, and 143mm in width, and may not be compatible with all smart phones. They certainly would look the part on any Lupin collectors’ shelf, though! Stock is running out, so be sure to act fast if you would like one.
Order yours by clicking here, but note that shipping is only available to those living in Japan.
R4G celebrate new items added to their Lupin line-up!
Japan based clothing company R4G (Respect 4 Geeks) continue to add to their popular line-up of Lupin based gear with some stylish new items… and yes, that includes Lupin socks!
New designs based on characters and scenes from both classic and new television series can be snapped up by the fashion hungry, while stocks last. There is even a fun little promotional video showcasing some older clothing items from the Lupin range, which you can watch over on Twitter by clicking here.
Check out the gallery below for a showcase of all the new products, and visit the website for more details. Again, as with everything listed here today, please note that shipping is only available to those living in Japan (much to my dismay)!
