UK showings of Lupin III: The First cancelled!
The November showings of Lupin III: The First have been cancelled throughout Scotland due to the increase in local lockdown restrictions. These are to be enforced from November 2nd onwards due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and the rate of which infections are increasing.
Those planning to attend a screening in either Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen will have their tickets automatically refunded. For those willing, venues are able to convert the price of the tickets into a donation instead - meaning rather than getting a refund, the money will go into the upkeep of the cinema.
It will not be possible for all of us to do this - however, it would be a nice, appreciated gesture to help out your local independent cinema by offering a donation during these tough times. Despite having plenty of measures in place to keep people safe - a sweeping request of closure across all cinemas, by law, is something completely out of their control.
While this news is a shame, it comes to no surprise when considering the current rate of the virus and advice from scientists. The film is still planned to release on digital-to-own services this December 15th, so at least we don’t have long left to wait before we can watch it from the comfort of our own homes - easily the preferred method of viewing for 2020!
