The First returns to U.K. cinemas for one day only!
The 2019 CG animated film Lupin III: The First will be bouncing back into select cinemas within the United Kingdom for one day only on Wednesday, June 2nd.
Showings of the film in 2020, which were planned as part of the yearly Scotland Loves Anime film festival, were eventually cancelled due to the increasing transmission rate of COVID-19. Now, as the situation has improved slightly within the U.K, cinemas are once again due to reopen starting from May 17th.
AllTheAnime, a U.K. based distribution company who own the rights to the film, announced the news of its return over on social media website Twitter earlier today. Tickets are currently on sale, and can be pre-ordered online.
Unfortunately, only a select few cinemas as part of the Showcase franchise will be showing the film, and locations are limited. Find a full list of those playing the film below.

We hope fans can enjoy the film if a showing is planned near you - and for everyone else, it is likely a Blu-ray and digital release is still to come later in the year.
The COVID-19 situation is still rapidly changing within the U.K, so it is worth still keeping an eye on government guidance and only attending the cinema on June 2nd if they remain open, and it is safe to do so.
