Spotlight: The history of Lupin III, by Nephrite
Good friend of the site (and fellow Scot) Nephrite has written up a fantastic two-part article outlining the history of the Lupin III franchise.
Both parts can be found over on The Orkney News, with the first part titled "Lupin The Third: The Playful Icon Who Stole The World" and the second titled “Lupin in The Modern Era“.
It doesn’t matter if you’re relatively new to the franchise or a veteran fan, there is a lot of content here to unpack.
Nephrite has gone into nitty gritty detail regarding our star thief’s origins, covering the manga, the green jacket series, the films - and so on, right up to the latest addition with the announcement of Part 6. Alongside the history, there is also a superb list of recommendations on what to watch in the second part.
We feel it’s incredibly important to document series history in this manner - and while there are already a bunch of useful resources out there that detail the series’ past, we can’t think of a better one that gives such a unique UK based perspective on the show.
Feel free to give it a read, and let Nephrite know what you think by leaving a comment on the article!
