Second "Greatest Heists" manga collection coming to Japan!
A second collection of classic Monkey Punch manga chapters is releasing in Japan later this year.
Lupin III: Greatest Heists (Volume 2) is due to release on October 12th, 2021. The book is currently retailing for around 1,980 Japanese Yen, and contains 288 pages of classic Lupin III manga content.
The first volume, which features stories from both the original manga run, as well as the later released Shin Lupin series, will release in select countries worldwide this autumn. It originally hit the Japanese market back in 2019, as part of the memorial celebrations for the late series creator, Monkey Punch.
More details on the second volume will be made available closer to release - stay tuned!
This year is certainly shaping up to be an exciting time for Lupin III fans!
In the midst of all the new releases of classic content and the promise of Part 6, there is also a resurgence of interest on the book front - with Greatest Heists, the Adventure Gamebook, the Part I storyboard collection and the new Isekai manga.
While we are lagging behind Japan’s releases abroad, the localisation of the first Greatest Heists manga marks the first time Monkey Punch’s original stories have dropped in other territories for a number of years. This has been great news for fans of the original manga - we can only hope it sells well enough to warrant the localisation of the second volume, too.
