Noboru Kimura, vocalist of various Part 2 vocal tracks, has passed away

Veteran singer and song writer Noboru Kimura has sadly passed away at the age of 72, his official Twitter account has confirmed. The tweet mentions that the much-loved artist passed away due to medical complications during the middle of October, 2024, and it goes on to remember the joy he brought to his family, friends, and fans.

Kimura, who often went by a pseudonym of Harry Kimura, provided vocals and music for various anime series over the years, including Ultraman, Barefoot Gen, Thunderbirds 2086, Ultraman, Sugata Sanshiro, Mirai Keisatsu Urashiman, and Lupin III: Part 2. He also starred in a band named TALIZMAN as the lead vocalist.

As Lupin fans, we are likely to remember him for his stellar performances in Love is Everything and Leave You, two integral tracks in the second series’ soundtrack. Love is Everything acted as the fourth ending theme for the show and remains one of my personal favourites.

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time, and we’ll certainly be listening to some Part 2 music today to remember him by.

May he rest in peace.
