Hamanaka Town Monkey Punch museum is open for business!
The popular pop-up museum in the late Kazuhiko Katō’s place of birth, Hamanaka Town, is now open for business!
A selection of Lupin goodies alongside many works of the late creator are on show. The museum will be open to visitors between June 13th until October 31st, 2020.
Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, potential visitors to the museum had doubts of its opening this summer. Thankfully, due to the viruses containment in Japan, it is now possible for it to open. All attendees will be required to wear a face mask whilst inside the museum, and must practice good hygiene, such as disinfecting their hands.
Despite the museum’s opening, the Hamanaka Town Lupin III festival, which has ran yearly since 2012, does not currently have a date for 2020.

The work of Monkey Punch gets official Japanese social media account!
Despite his passing in April 2019, the work of series creator Kazuhiko Katō is still very much alive and well - so much so, it now has an official Japanese Twitter account!
The account, which has been endorsed by the official Japanese Lupin III social media channel, is named @M_Punch_Staff. It aims to share some of the lesser known works of Katō for people to enjoy.
While at first it seems unusual for a social media account to appear after his passing, it is nice to think that that his creations will remain in the spotlight and continue to live on for many years to come.
