Lupin III: The First is out now in Japanese cinemas!

The highly anticipated 3DCG film is out now in Japanese theatres!
The Japanese voice talent and production crew attended a premiere in Tokyo to celebrate the occasion. As pictured above. all major voice talent posed for various photos and provided comments on the release of the film. Kanichi Kurita, as he sometimes does, showed up in full cosplay. The leading actor sported an outfit incredibly accurate outfit to that 3DCG version of Lupin III.
Reviews and social media response to the film has been positive thus far, with a lot of critics asking why director Takashi Yamazaki did not give Dragon Quest: Your Story the same care and attention. The 3DCG Dragon Quest film flopped earlier this year in Japan, mostly due to its bizarre and unexpected plot twist.

Viewer Marc Manuello, who snapped the above picture and saw the film during its theatrical run in Japan, posted the following on social media:
While an announcement of a home video release is not expected until the film finishes its cinema run early next year, going by previous releases, we can safely assume it will hit DVD and Blu-ray in Japan around Spring 2020.
More treats and goodies from the film are expected to release in the next month or two, so stay tuned!
Lupin III: The First releases in Italy February 2020!

Lupin III: The First is releasing in Italy next year, on February 20th, 2020!
The release will also come with a full Italian dub, featuring some returning cast members from previous TV series and films.
The upcoming 3DCG film released in Japan on the 6th of December 2019 and will also release in Spain during May 2020.
There is still no word on a U.S. or U.K. release, but we have our fingers crossed for a 2020 date in those territories, too. Keep your eyes peeled!

Following on from our Italian news above, Lupin III: The First is also coming to Brazil in 2020!
The news was revealed at the CCXP 2019 expo, which ran this previous weekend in São Paulo. Distributor Sato Company will be handling the release of the film, and it is currently expected to hit theatres and receive a home video release.

The official Lupin III: The First soundtrack is now available!

The official soundtrack from Lupin III: The First is now available digitally from iTunes and Amazon, or physically if you are willing to import!
The complete soundtrack for the upcoming 3DCG film clocks in at a whopping 61 tracks in total - one of the largest soundtracks for a Lupin III film to date!
The soundtrack has been composed once again by series veteran Yuji Ohno and features a heap of brand new music. Mixed in with the new tracks are revamps of classics, such as BUONO!! BUONO!!, Love Squall, the Zenigata March, Dangerous Temptation, Samba Temperado, Zantetsuken, Super Hero and many more.
First impressions of the soundtrack are great, and while a lot of the tracks are short (only around a minute in length), the sheer variety here helps make up for it. The version of Samba Temperado included here is perhaps one of the closest we have heard to the original version since its debut in The Castle of Cagliostro, and there are four fantastic versions of the Part II theme - all unique in their own way.
If you wish to encourage the release of the film in English speaking territories, purchasing this soundtrack is currently the best official means of doing it. Give it your support and pick it up from iTunes or Amazon today!
Prototype Lupin III: The First designs reveal multiple coloured jackets!
Twitter user KurohigeGoGo has snagged a Japanese pamphlet showing prototype 3DCG designs for Lupin III!
Unfortunately images from the pamphlet are only available in low quality, as no higher quality versions exist online. Despite this, it is clear to see that the development team were considering multiple jacket colours for Lupin, including various shades of green, red and blue.
