Lupin III: The First is now available to rent in Japan!
This has been a little while coming! The Lupin gangs first feature length 3DCG film is now available to rent via online streaming platforms in Japan.
The film will be available to rent for the period of one year, unless an extension is granted, so from now until July 31st, 2021. Once checked out for rental, viewers will have a limited time period to watch the film before it checks back in again.
If you are living in Japan and fancy some 3D Lupin action in your life, visit the Telasa videopass.jp website and give it a watch! For everyone else, you can still visit the page and enjoy the big red “Sorry, TELASA is not available in this country.” banner instead.
Lupin III: Part II to feature at Manga City Tokyo!
The red jacket Lupin TV series is will shortly be making a special appearance at The Manga City Tokyo Exhibition at The National Art Center, Tokyo.
The limited time event is set to run from August 12 to November 3, 2020, and will feature a variety of different Japanese manga and anime.
While not 100% confirmed (as the event is still yet to open, and plans may change), it is rumored that episode 155 of Part II will be on show.
Farewell my beloved Lupin (さらば 愛しき ルパン よ) is perhaps one of the most famous Part II episodes, due to it being the final Lupin work to be directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
Early character designs for both Nausicaä (of the Valley of the Wind) and the ancient robots from Laputa: Castle in the Sky show up, making this a stand out episode not just for Lupin fans, but Studio Ghibli enthusiasts in general.
If you plan on heading to the event, please let us know your thoughts by either leaving a comment below, or by reaching out over on social media! More information on the event can be found via the official Japanese website.
Big thanks to Maia for the heads up!
