Welcome to Koike month!
Welcome to a whole month dedicated to the works of Takeshi Koike!
In celebration of the recent English release for Fujiko Mine’s Lie, Lupin Central is going to have a month of content dedicated to the Lupin the IIIRD spin-off series and its director, Takeshi Koike.
Takeshi Koike is a Japanese animator, illustrator and film director. He has previously worked on animated features such as Redline and Afro Samurai - with his first folly in the Lupin series being with the 2012 spin-off show, The Woman Called Fujiko MIne.

Our month of content will kick off on Friday the 8th of November with a review of Daisuke Jigen’s Gravestone. This 2014 feature length film is the first of three in the series, and featured Lupin wearing a light blue coloured jacket. Like the Fujiko TV series that came before it, Jigen’s Gravestone had a slightly darker, edgier tone, and definitely possessed its own cool, smooth sense of style.
A week after that, on Friday the 15th of November, our review of the second film in the trilogy The Bloodspray of Ishikawa Goemon will hit the site - and then on Friday the 22nd of November, we will complete the series with a review of Fujiko MIne’s Lie.
If you would like to watch along with the site, it is currently possible to rent or buy all three films over on Amazon in the U.S. and U.K. The films may be available to purchase in other territories, so be sure to check your local Amazon website for more details.
