The Columbus Files comes to Blu-ray in 2021!
Discotek Media are bringing the 1999 animated TV special The Columbus Files (also known as Ai no da capo ~Fujiko's Unlucky Days~) to 1080p Blu-ray on the 23rd of February, 2021!
The North American release will include HD video quality along with the original Japanese language dub, complete with English subtitles.
Although the information has yet to be officially confirmed, it is also likely to feature the Funimation English dub from the 2005 DVD release. More information regarding this, along with any potential special features, will no doubt be revealed closer to the February release date.
Check out a quick plot synopsis from Discotek Media themselves below:
Fujiko has memorized & destroyed the Columbus Files, a document that can lead to the Columbus Egg, a mystical object that can help control the weather. She has also lost her memory & Lupin jumps at the chance to help.
In addition to the announcement of Columbus Files, Discotek have also promised another big news drop next Monday, on the evening of the 14th of December, 2021.
It is extremely likely more Lupin III news will be included as a part of this - as Discotek are continuing to give our favourite thief plenty of love when it comes to releases in the West - so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more information!
The Columbus Files is currently available to pre-order over on RightStufAnime.
