"Part 4" coming to HIDIVE in select territories!
The 2015 animated television series Lupin III: Part 4 is coming to HIDIVE in the United States and Canada, starting on March 15th, 2022.
Four episodes of the show are due to upload on the service on a weekly basis, every Thursday.
Both Japanese and English audio dubbed versions will be available—which is interesting, as both feature some notable differences.
While the English dubbed version does include Tony Oliver, Richard Epcar, Lex Lang, Michelle Ruff and Doug Erholtz reprising their roles as the main Lupin cast, it features unique opening and ending themes, a different soundtrack (Papik as opposed to Yuji Ohno), and rougher visuals. These differences from the Japanese version stem from TMS Entertainment considering the original Italian broadcast of the show as the “international” version, rather than the slightly better presented Japanese version.
Due to these differences and the issues they caused with audio timing, both versions of Part 4 have featured as part of two completely separate home video releases in English-speaking territories. It is encouraging to see both make their way onto HIDIVE, so fans can now easily view both versions of the show online, in the same place.
