Update: Part 1 English dub to premiere on YouTube in the U.S!
Update (October 23rd):
In a rather unusual move, TMS Entertainment USA have postponed the YouTube premiere of Part 1’s English language dub due to a “scheduling conflict”.
We suspect this has something to do with the theatrical screening by Sentai Filmworks, which is still planned to go ahead this weekend.
More details are to come at a later date.
Original story (October 18th):
A brand-new English language dub for the original 1971 animated television series Lupin III: Part 1 is coming to the United States, and it’s due to premiere on YouTube this Sunday!
Coinciding with the original broadcast date of the first episode in Japan, TMS Entertainment USA will be uploading the full first episode to YouTube on October 24th, 2021. The episode will be free of charge, and available for those watching within the United States.
Sentai Filmworks are also bringing the newly dubbed episode to cinemas within the U.S. on (and around) the same date. In addition to the Part 1 dub, attendees can also catch both “Episode 0 ~ The Times” and “Episode 1 ~ Enter Sherlock Holmes” of Lupin III: Part 6 on the big screen, complete with the original Japanese audio and English subtitles.
The YouTube video is likely to be region locked, and therefore may not be accessible in territories outside the U.S. Stay tuned for more details on this coming later in the week.
