Welcome to Monkey News, your weekly news update for everything Lupin III.

The official poster for the event features the official artwork from all three spin-off Lupin the IIIRD films.

A Lupin the IIIRD event is heading to the Yurakucho Marui shopping mall in Tokyo!

For a limited time, fans of the Takeshi Koike spin-off will be able to purchase merchandise at a pop-up stall in the Yurakucho Marui shopping mall.

The event will run from the 23rd of July until the 10th of August, and while no concrete details have been shared of what will be on sale, we imagine fans should be able to pick up DVD’s, Blu-rays, t-shirts, posters and more.

Check out the official website for the event for more details.

The Hamanaka Town Lupin festival has been a yearly event since 2012, and in 2019 it ran a special event in memory of Monkey Punch.

The 2020 Hamanaka Town Lupin festival event day is officially cancelled.

The yearly Lupin festival has been cancelled for the first time since it began in 2012.

A statement posted up on Twitter early last week mentions that this years “event day” has been cancelled in effort to help stop the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, the Monkey Punch museum will remain open until October - although it will have many precautionary measures in place, with attendees asked to keep their distance, disinfect their hands and wear face coverings if possible.

We hope the Hamanaka Town festival can have a triumphant return during 2021, and we look forward to sharing news about it once announced!

Teaser artwork for the fall apparel collection, pictured above, features a stylish new look!

A new Lupin themed “fall” clothing line is coming soon!

It’s nearly time to change up your wardrobe in preparation for the fall, and TMS have got us covered.

A brand new line-up of Lupin clothing items are soon to go on sale in Japan, featuring some updated artwork of the main cast members.

No formal details of what will be on sale has been announced, although considering this is a fall collection, we would expect to see jackets, hoodies, jumpers and more (I personally would love some Jigen wellington boots, but I’m trying not to get too hopeful)!

Stay tuned to the official @tms_shop Twitter account for more details.

While the art book will heavily feature Ōtsuka’s art during his time with Lupin III, also expect to see it contain some of his original works too!

Yasuo Ōtsuka’s latest art collection now has a cover page!

The upcoming art book from legendary Japanese animator Yasuo Ōtsuka now has a cover page, and a confirmed release date of the 31st of July, 2020.

The book, which is named “Lupin III, Cars and Locomotives” will feature the gang alongside a collection of different vehicles.

Yasuo Ōtsuka is very much a second father to Lupin III. Alongside Kazuhiko Katō (Monkey Punch). Ōtsuka had heavy involvement with the original pilot film from 1969, and also in adapting Katō’s original comic strips to television format with the Part I TV series.

The book is currently up for pre-order over on Amazon Japan and retails at 3,850 yen.
