R4G announces Lupin III: Part 5 collection!
Japanese apparel company R4G (Respect 4 Geeks) is teaming up with TMS for a Lupin III: Part 5 collection, due later this year!
R4G is a website that specialises in “geek fashion”. This includes many items of clothing that all sport designs inspired by various popular anime and video game series.
The Lupin III: Part 5 collection contains limited edition t-shirts, hoodies and bags. All items in the collection will only be available for a short amount of time, so if you are looking to snag a thing or two, we would advise ordering as soon as they become available. The items will be up for pre-order from Friday the 24th of January, via ec-store.net.
For a list containing all of the items on sale, including the prices and sizing of each, be sure to check out the R4G website by clicking here.
Happy 87th birthday, Kiyoshi Kobayashi!
The legendary Japanese voice actor for Jigen Daisuke celebrated his 87th birthday on January 11th!
Kiyoshi Kobayashi, who has been voicing the character since the original 1969 Pilot Film, is still active and playing Jigen today. He mostly recently starred in the 3DCG film Lupin III: The First and while at the red carpet event, expressed his desire to continue voicing Jigen “a little while longer”.
I firmly believe there is not a single Lupin fan that would want things any other way. Kobayashi has done a fantastic job of brining life to the character for years and despite his age, his performance still fits perfectly.
TMS posted up a message over on Twitter to mark the occasion - be sure to give it a like by clicking here.
Italian Lupin III: The First poster revealed! Film also confirmed for release in the Philippines!
The official poster for the Italian localisation of Lupin III: The First has been revealed!
The film is planned to hit theaters in Italy from the 27th of February. Italy’s release of the film will also come with a full Italian language dub, which sees returning cast members from previous localisations (including a few new additions and an actress change for Fujiko Mine).
Shortly afterwards, Brazil, Spain and now the Philippines will all receive a localised version of the film.
While there is no confirmation of a release in English speaking territories, the trailer showcasing the Philippines version comes complete with English subtitles. An advance screening of the film will take place in the Philippines SM Megamall (Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong) on January the 25th, at 15:00.
More details on the advance screening can be seen here, while an official release date for the film in the Philippines is yet to be confirmed.
