Monkey News - Birthday Goemon
Happy birthday, Daisuke Namikawa!
April 2nd, 2020 marked the 44th birthday to Ishikawa Goemon XIII’s current Japanese voice talent, Daisuke Namikawa.
The veteran actor first took on the role of Goemon in the 2011 TV Special Blood Seal of the Eternal Mermaid. Since then, he has featured as the samurai thief in three TV series and a whole bunch of films, including the most recent, Lupin III: The First.
Namikawa has also featured in other famous anime such as Case Closed, Yu-Gi-Oh and One Piece to name only a few (the list feels endless). Outside of anime, Namikawa has a well-established career in radio drama and also in dubbing famous Western actors such as Elijah Wood and Leonardo DiCaprio into the Japanese language.
We would like to wish him many happy returns and cannot wait to hear him back in the role of Goemon sometime in the future!
