Lupin III: The First gets home video release in UK this August!
Anime series and film distributer All The Anime have announced that the 2019 feature length 3DCG film Lupin III: The First will release on DVD and Blu-ray in the United Kingdom this summer.
Both a standard and collectors edition version of the film will be made available for purchase, and pre-orders are due to go live from 5pm BST on July the 16th. The film is expected to release on August 30th, 2021.
All versions of the film feature English and Japanese 5.1 audio, along with English subtitles. The contents are packed in a rigid case, with standard plastic amaray box. While the recommended retail price is £39.99, early birds can snag the collectors set for just £24.99. The standard DVD sits at £12.99, and the standard Blu-ray at £13.99.
Special features include:
English Voice Cast Reunited
CG Model Gallery
Animation Breakdown
Yellow Carpet Premiere
Theatrical Trailers & Promos
Interviews with Director and Japanese Cast
A sixty-four page booklet is also included with the collectors edition, containing concept art, storyboards, character sketches and information on how the Lupin gang were brought to life in 3D.
The film recently featured in cinemas within the United Kingdom for a one-day-only run of the Japanaese language version. It’s exciting to see both the original Japanese and English language audio (Tony Oliver, Richard Epcar, etc) make it onto the home video release - so fans can experience the best of both worlds!
Big thanks to kokir1forest for the news tip on this one - it’s appreciated!
