Lupin III: Part 5 is coming to home video in Italy!
Good news, Italian fans—you have more Lupin to look forward to than just Part 4!
Yamato Video have announced the release of 2018’s Lupin III: Part 5 on DVD and Blu-ray, which is currently planned to hit stores on the 21st of September 2022.
The DVD version will be included on four discs, whereas the Blu-ray will be made up of three discs. Both versions are to include Italian and original Japanese audio, along with the 2018 OVA, Is Lupin Still Burning…?! Those able to snag a copy will also be treated to two exclusive art booklets—more details on these are to be shared shortly.
Despite the series’ widespread popularity within Italy, home video releases for Lupin and friends have been known to be slower to release than in other territories. Thankfully, Italian super-fan Dario is now directly involved with Yamato’s Lupin III releases, and as a result, the work appears to be speeding up. There is no doubt also a talented team over at Mediaset and Yamato helping to put these new releases together—however, with Dario on board, fans can be reassured that these versions will be of high quality.
The news comes one week before the long-awaited home video release of Lupin III: Part 4, which will be available in Italy from the 21st of July 2022. This version of Part 4 is due to include both the Italian and Japanese language audio, including soundtracks by both Papik and Yuji Ohno. There is even a special edition version available, that comes with a Lupin and Rebecca wedding figurine.
Both versions of Part 5 are currently up for pre-order over on Amazon.it, with the DVD version priced at €49.99 and the Blu-ray at €59.99. There is also a “special edition” Blu-ray version, that comes bundled with a Part 5 figurine by Banpresto. This can also be pre-ordered over on Amazon.it for €85.
