Fujiko Mine coming to Blu-ray in Germany!
The 2012 animated television series The Woman Called Fujiko Mine is due to release in Germany some time during 2022, thanks to Kazé Entertainment!
Announced via Twitter and their online blog earlier this week, the set is to include all thirteen episodes of the darker in tone spin-off series.
Fujiko Mine tells an origin story and is directed by Sayo Yamamoto.
At the time of initial release, it was given the tag line “Hard and Dangerous”, and was the first episodic anime to focus on the Lupin gang since Part 3 in the mid 1980s.
It features content more suited to adults, with reference to drugs, nudity, and topics such as childhood trauma. The character design is handled by Takeshi Koike, who has gone on to direct a trilogy of Lupin the IIIRD spin-off films (with more on the way)!
Lupin has been no stranger to Germany as of late, with the Lupin the IIIRD Trilogy getting separate releases, a television special Blu-ray set and with the release of Lupin III: The First, which even included an all-new German dub!
More details to come, with a release expected during 2022.
Thanks to Luca for the heads-up on this one!
