Elusiveness of the Fog now available on Blu-ray in North America!
The 2007 released Lupin III TV special, Elusiveness of the Fog, is now available on Blu-ray in North America.
This newest Discotek Media release features 1080p HD video, along with the original Japanese dubbed audio and English subtitles. It also includes clean opening / ending videos, and all original TV spots.
Elusiveness of the Fog features the return of a classic Lupin III: Part I villain, Kyosuke Mamo, and sees the gang travelling back in time 500 years into the past as a result of his antics. The crew team up with locals and form a truce with their long-time foe, Inspector Zenigata, to help save the future and make it back to present day.
The late Yasuo Ōtsuka, who passed away on the 15th of March this year, animated the eyecatch sequences during the film. These short scenes are loosely based on the original eyecatches from Lupin III: Part II, but feature the Fiat 500 instead of the Merc SSK. Ōtsuka was a veteran of the Lupin series, and helped mentor both Miyazaki and Takahata when working on the original show.
