Rest In Peace, William Dufris
It is unfortunate that we need to begin this weeks’ news with a rather sombre story, however we feel it is important that we all pay our respects.
William Dufris, veteran voice actor and the director of “EC Comics Presents... The Vault of Horror” has passed away at the age of 62. The cause of death was cancer.
In regard to his voice acting career, Dufris is perhaps most known performing the lead role in the U.S. version of the animated children’s show, Bob the Builder. He also voiced Lupin III in the Manga UK English language dubs of Bye Bye, Lady Liberty and The Mystery of Mamo.
We hope he can rest easy and we will keep his family in friends in mind during this no doubt incredibly tough time. More information can be found over at Anime News Network.
Black Nikka Clear Whiskey promotion goes live!
Lupin and the gang are teaming up for an advertising campaign with popular tipple, Black Nikka Clear Whiskey.
While the campaign does not officially go live until tomorrow, April 1st, bottles have been showing up in Japanese liquor stores a couple of days early.
The promotion features Lupin themed packaging for the drinks, which includes Japanese text which roughly translates to; “Can you find Lupin? A fashionable way to find our thief!”

… and don’t forget, Lupin III: The First is coming to North America!
It is finally happening - the first feature length 3DCG Lupin film will be hitting North America in 2020!
Going from information written up on distributor GKIDS official web page, Lupin III: The First is expected to launch in select theatres across North America later this year. Two versions of the film will be shown - one featuring Japanese audio with English subtitles, and another which is to include a full English dub.
